CONCRETE HAS BEEN POURED
The concrete was poured late last week so the cribbing has all been taken down. It's starting to take some shape! You can see the different levels the house will have with the step downs.

DELAYS, DELAYS,,,,,,,,
This has been a test of patience so far...and we haven't even started! Due to many design flaws and the snow, we are delayed even longer. Cribbing was delayed due to weather but that will hopefully be completed within the next couple days so that concrete can be poured. Just maybe we will see walls soon!

September 2010
I can hardly believe this is happening. I must be living a dream. I am so excited to finally be starting construction on our home. To give you a bit of history, this has been in the works for 6+ years. We first discussed building more like 8 years ago but we bought the lot 6 years ago.
We have been living in a 1950's original bungalow in the inner city. Don't get me wrong, it's a great house, it has been renovated so it's nicely updated but it's SMALL! Like, 850 square feet small. It was fine for Brent as a bachelor, not bad for us as a newly married couple, getting tight with an infant daughter who was accumulating "stuff" at lightening speed and just plain ridiculous as a family of four, whose husband has his office in the home! Crazy, I know. Luckily we do have a basement that has a full suite. We stopped renting it and Brent took that over for his office space in the summer of 2008 after our second daughter was born. As you all know, kids come with so many extra things which is now consuming every nook and cranny we have.
I am so tired of living in clutter and feeling like nothing is ever clean or tidy. It feels so amazing to know that there is an end to it all. A beautiful end. I am looking forward to having friends over for dinner and having playdates anytime my kids ask.
Follow us on our journey to building our dream house. Good things come to those who wait!
